Several Surrogacy Information That The Intended Parents Should Know

For those parents who are wanting to grow their own families but do not want to adopt, it is advised to research and look for reliable surrogacy information. Surrogacy is an agreement, by the intended parents as well as the surrogate mother. Surrogacy arrangements are backed by a legal contract that was signed by both the hopeful parents and the surrogate mother who agreed to bear a child for another family.

A legal contract is needed to ensure that both the intended parents and the surrogate mother can benefit from this arrangement. It is a partnership between hopeful parents and the surrogate mother. The hopeful parents who made the arrangement will be the child’s family after birth. Parents who are having difficulty in pregnancy often seek surrogacy arrangements. Most of the time, the cause of this reproductive problem is infertility. Surrogacy is intended for parents that cannot produce their offspring. It is a process that can be delightful for all the parties that were involved in the arrangement.

What are the benefits of Surrogacy?

The intended parents as well as the surrogate mother will be able to receive benefits through the surrogacy procedure. These include:

  • It also gives the hopeful parents a lot more control and peace of mind throughout the procedure than they can usually have with fertility treatments or adoptions.
  • Surrogacy also gives hopeful parents a lot more peace of mind and control throughout the procedure than they usually have with adoptions or fertility treatments. Surrogacy also allows couples who cannot have their child to have a chance to build their family. The reason can vary from infertility, members of the LGBT community, and single people.
  • Surrogacy allows the intended parents to be able to raise a child of their own from birth.

What is Infertility?

Infertility refers to the inability of becoming pregnant after a long period of trying to reproduce a child. Women who can get pregnant but always suffer from miscarriage may also be infertile. Women are not the only ones who suffer from infertility problems. Both men and women can have problems that can cause infertility.

What causes Infertility in Women?

Most of the surrogacy information that is available for the public to see states that most cases of female infertility are usually caused by problems with their ovulation. If a woman does not ovulate, there will be no eggs to be fertilized. The absence of menstrual periods or irregular menstrual periods is one of the signs that a woman is not normally ovulating.

Polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) is one of the causes of ovulation problems in women. This type of syndrome is a hormonal imbalance that interferes with normal ovulation. Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome or PCOS is also one of the most prevalent causes of female infertility. Another cause of ovulation problems is primary ovarian insufficiency (POI). This usually occurs when the ovaries of a woman stop working before she reaches the age of 40. Early menopause is not the same as Primary Ovarian Insufficiency or POI.

Other less common problems with infertility for women include:

  • Pelvic inflammatory disease or endometriosis, surgery for ectopic pregnancy, that causes the blockage inside the fallopian tubes.
  • The uterus having medical issues.
  • Non-cancerous clumps of tissue called uterine fibroids are found on the uterus.

Other reasons can increase the risk of women’s infertility. These includes:

  • Age
  • Sexually transmitted infections such as HIV
  • Poor diet
  • Smoking
  • Excess alcohol use
  • Stress
  • Hormonal changes such as polycystic ovarian syndrome as well as the primary ovarian insufficiency
  • Being overweight or underweight

What causes Infertility in Men?

Infertility can also be a problem for men. Some of the causes of infertility in men are listed below:

  • The movement of the sperm. This is often caused by the sperm’s shape. There are times where injuries or other damage to the reproductive system of a man may block the sperm.
  • Varicocele happens when the veins on the testicles heat the body part. The heat can then affect the number or the shape of the sperm.

There are also other times where a man is born with problems that affect sperm. Sometimes, problems start when they get older due to injury or illnesses. An example of this is cystic fibrosis. This type of problem is often the reason for infertility in men.

There are a lot of reasons that can help increase the risk of infertility in men. This includes:

  • Age
  • Heavy alcohol use
  • Medicines
  • Drugs
  • Smoking cigarettes
  • Other health problems such as  mumps, kidney diseases, or other hormonal problems

Parents that are planning to arrange surrogacy needs to get in touch with any surrogacy information they can get their hands on. Adequate knowledge of the process will ensure the validity of the procedure and helps the surrogate mother to get the benefits that she deserves for taking part in the process.
